old lovers

So much has happened since my last post...where to begin? I've re-established contact with an old boyfriend that I hadn't spoken to for 13 yrs. We were together for 7 yrs and it ended very dramatically...broken hearts, rebounds and that...then silence for yrs. Time passed...marriages came and went...numerous relocations. I think we both carried around the wound of "not knowing"...it was a subtle constant ache for me. So it is very liberating to be chatting with someone that basically grew up with me...the person that taught me there is a thing called "unconditional love". So a weight has been lifted...and all is well.

The recent healing of old wounds has reminded me of old books, movies and music from those days. Here's an all-time favorite song and video...dedicated to Mr. Lucky and our days in KCMO...when we fancied ourselves "John and Exene". So it goes...

Saw The Good, The Bad and the Queen at the Apple store today...I almost hyperventilated at the site of Paul...so handsome still...so smooth...aging gracefully. To see the signature Simonon swagger in person is really something! Another one to check off the list for me...a good day!

Recovering from the weekend with Sweaty and the crew...bevvys, sunrises, fry-ups, pool, quarrels, Sunday Supper Club at mine ...typical really. Packing for the trip to MO on Wednesday...I'll have loads of pics to share next week. Y'all come back now ya hear!

movin' on up

Moving into my 7th floor tenement (with a view) tomorrow...I thought this day would never come! Road trip back from MO in a couple of weeks with all my crap...I will feel whole once again. It's gonna be like Christmas rummaging through all the boxes! I'm sure there will be some interesting road trip pics as well...cuz I'm givin' Matty the white trash tour of the Mid-West. Can't wait to see what happens when the "good ole boys" hear his Boro accent...I mentioned that he might want to rent "Deliverance" before we leave.
